Courses can not be discriminated. In my views every subject has its own values. But the point is in what subject a student has his/her interests and according to that only he must select his streams. He must not select the subject under pressure of his family or parents, one must study that in which he is personally interested. In today's world every subject is important and people from all streams are required in this world. In Bengal people do not pay much importance to commerce stream but commerce is a very important subject and accountants play a essential part in today's world of business keeping. Likewise writers are also different in this society and doctors and engineers too.
Theses are the people who are inter dependant on each other and they should not be discriminated. All courses are totally equal and one should select his/her subject according to the interest and aims he have in his life.
Thanks a lot for putting this nice thread here,
