Aaila - The Storm

It was the last week of May 2009. I still remember it was a Monday. A scorching sun had baked the ground hard and dry for last many days. All the people had taken shelter indoors. The wind was like a blast of furnace (Loo). Sweat dried on the bodies. Neither a soul, nor even dogs were seen loitering under the sun.

Towards the noon a dark speck of cloud appeared in the North Western sky. I knew it to be the forerunner of a storm. The wind began to get up and soon rose to gale. The wild wind began to romp over the earth and played pranks. Rags of cloud raced in the sky. The earth and sky were enveloped in dust. From light things like rags, leaves, chits of paper, the storm soon attacked the standing trees. And a great many of them fell. Doors and windows seemed to give in as well. Hell was let loose, as it were. I shook and shivered curled up in my bed. For half an hour raged the storm when it started raining in torrents.

Heavy rain pelted down hammering the roof. The wind mocked the trees with howls. Suddenly a thought rose in me – what about if I took a snap of it? I did that & now uploaded that for you.
This was Aaila .
