Mamata Banerjee initiates Kolkata Metro Railway from Dumdum to Dakshineswar

Mamata Banerjee, Indian Railway Minister, always wants to provide the best facilities to the people and to serve people of India Smt Mamata Banerjee, Chief of Trinamool Congress, has often come up with latest and people oriented Railway Projects. In the year 2010, the first New Year Gift of Mamata Banerjee is no doubt the expansion of Metro Railway of Kolkata.

Smt Mamata Banerjee had already expanded the Kolkata Metro Railway from Tollygunje to Garia Bazar in South Kolkata at the end of the year 2009. But, on 2nd January 2010 Mamata Banerjee, Bangalir Didi, inaugurated the expansion project of Metro Railway of Kolkata from Dumdum to Dakshineswar in Northern part of Kolkata.

The inauguration function of Metro Rail expansion to Dakshineswar has arranged at Kamarhati Ground in the afternoon on 2nd January 2010. Alongside, Mamata Banerjee many of big personalities were present to be the witness of Historical Event of Metro expansion at Kolkata. Honorable Minister Shri Sougata Roy, Congress leader Shri Sudip Bandopadhyay, Shri Mural Bhai (President of Adyapeath Temple) and many other big names were present on the ceremony.

Smt Mamata Banerjee said primarily the kolkata metro will be expanded to Baranagar from Dumdum and later will be expanded to Dakshineswar. Indian Railway announces 285 Crores for this project. The expansion of Metro Railway of Kolkata won’t be underground.
