Manab Mukherjee is a heavy weight leader of CPI(M). After the West Bengal assembly election of 2006, due to any unknown reason Manab Mukherjee was in the back-end. Again Manab Mukherjee, a close associates of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya is found very much active. This gentle man is a good leader and could be a key player for CPIM in Bidhan Sabha Election West Bengal 2011.

Date of Birth of Manab Mukherjee : 24rth August 1955
School of Manab Mukherjee: Jodhpur Park Boys School.
College of Manab Mukherjee : St. Xavier's College, Kolkata

After graduation Manab Mukherjee got admitted in M.B.A Course in Kolkata University but could not complete it as he became a whole timer of CPI (M) at that time. As a student he was brilliant. His love for literature is known to all. In his busy schedule, he still reads a lot and writes poems, articles.

Political Career of Manab Mukherjee


In 1996, he was in Late Jyoti Basu's cabinet with independent charge of Dept. of Youth Welfare, dept. of Tourism and Dept. of Environment. Youth Computer Training Centre is a brain child of Manab Mukherjee.

In 2001, he was in Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's cabinet as IT Minister. The growth of IT industry in West Bengal shows his capability as IT Minister.
In 2006 , he was in Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's cabinet as Minister in Charge, Department of Micro & Small Scale Enterprises & Textiles
