Aloo Posto is a very simple and easy recipe. Aloo Posto is the best Indian condiment. It is a side dish which increases your taste. You should try this Aloo Posto recipe whenever come to West Bengal. It takes 5minutes for preparation, 35 minutes for cooking and can served by 4 people.

Ingredients of Bengali Aloo Posto Recipe:


5-6 medium potatoes
2-3 green chillies
1/2 tsp sugar
2 tblsp mustard oil
1 tsp pure ghee
1/2 tsp onion seeds (kalonji)
4 tblsp poppy seeds (khuskhus)
salt to taste

Preparation of Bengali Aloo Posto Recipe:


1)First cut the potatoes of small sized pieces such as 1 inch size.
2)Wash them with water.
3)Then soak the poppy seeds in one cup warm water for fifteen minutes.
4)Then remove this and grind to make a fine paste.
5)Then heat up mustard oil in a pan till it reaches smoking point.
6)Then remove thye pan, cool and heat up the oil again on medium heat.
7)Then mix this in kalonji and lightly fry it.
8)After this mix the mixture in potato pieces and lightly fry on medium heat for five minutes.
9)Then mix this in the poppy seeds paste, stir and mix in half cup of water, cover it and lightly fry on a low heat till the potatoes are almost boiled.
10)Then add salt for taste, sugar and slit green chillies.
11)Then fry it for a minute and serve the famous Bengali Aloo Posto Recipe.
