Ingredients required for preparing Matar Paneer
Fresh Paneer: 200 gm
Potato: 2 medium sizes
Peas: ½ cup
Oninon: 1 nicely chopped
Tomato: 1 medium size
Cumin Powder: 1 tablespoon
Ginger Garlic Paste: 1 tablespoon
Turmeric Powder: 1tablespoon
Chilli Powder: 1tablespoon
Salt to taste
Garammasala: ½ tablespoon
Ghee: 1 Tablespoon
Mustard Oil: 1 tablespoon
Method of Preparation of Matar Paneer
Cut the paneer into small cubes and also the potatoes into small cubes.
Heat oil in the frying pan and gently fry the paneer cubes till golden brown.
After frying keep aside those paneer.
In the same oil fry the potatoes and then again keep them aside.
Again heat oil in the same frying pan and add the onion and fry it until it is golden brown.
Now add the tomatoes and cook till they soften.
Now add the cumin powder, turmeric powder, ginger gartlic paste, chilli powder and again fry until the oil starts to separate.
Do this all in Low flame.
Now add the half cooked potatoes, salt and required amount of water to it.
Cook till the potatoes are almost done.
Now slowly drop the paneer and cook till the gravy thickens.
Add the peas also.
After it is ready, sprinkle the garam masala and pour in the ghee and mix it well but very gently.
Take out of flame and serve with roti, paratha or vegetable pulao.
