History of voting in the world-First generation of voting process
In 1856 Australia starts the first voting process and Great Britain is the first country who starts first ballot paper voting in 1882.
First voting process is very interesting. On that time candidates distribute their ballot papers to the people and people choose the right candidate and drop the ballot paper in the ballot box through presiding officer.
This process continued for a long time in France and different country of Europe.
History of voting in the world-Second generation of voting process
In 1888 A.D. United States Of America adopt " Massachusetts" plan. In this plan each ballot paper contain the symbol and name of each candidate. Voters cast their vote of the desired candidate on the ballot paper with ink and stamp.
History of voting in West Bengal
Near about hundred thirty years ago in 1880 A.D. Calcutta Municipal vote was the first vote in Bengal. British councilor Lord Rippon starts this first.
On that time the voting process was very interesting. On that time there were neither Booth office nor presiding officer, no ballot was there.
On the election date voter came with well dressed ride on horse cart or on Fiton. Voters sat in one row and the candidate sat on the opposite row.
On that time Police commissioner "Hauge" maintain the whole process.He called all the candidate's name from the list and asked the voter to whom they want to vote. Voters raised their finger and pointed appropriate person.
