Just 45 mints from Siliguri, Mongpong gives you a magnificient view of River Tista. Once you leave Siliguri and come to Sevak Road, the landscape gets gradually changed and as you pass through Mahanada Wildlife Sanctuary the mood completely gets changed due to the refreshing greenery. It is the place where the mighty river Tista comes down from the hills and meets the plains. The left side of the river is called Mongpong whereas the right side is known as Sevok bazaar. For the locals it’s a popular picnic spot. There is a forest bungalow in Mongpong where tourists can stay overnight. One can relax here by spending time with nature and mountains.

How to go Mongpong, West Bengal:


The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri. Mongpong is approximetely 30 kms from Siliguri. The buses which go to Dooars (that is the buses going to Malbazar, Chalsa, Alipurduar), go via Mongpong. But it is always better if you hire a car from New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri.
