Since March 2010 he has also been working as an honorary and part time director of the National Aviation Company of India Ltd. (NACIL). From March 25, 2003 to March 24, 2006, Dr. Amit Mitra was the Additional Director of Steel Authority of India Ltd. At the same time he was the Independent Director of the Bata India Ltd.
