Profile, biography, movies and political career of Chiranjeet - Actor, director and Trinamool leader


Chiranjeet is a well known name in Bengali Film Industry. He is one of the most successful tollywood actor and director of 1980's and 1990's. Recently he has come to lime light again as he has won the MLA seat contesting from Barasat as a Trinamul candidate.

Chiranjeet the famous bengali actor, born on 2nd November 1960. He is not only a successful actor but also a very good film director. He had studied engineering from Jadavpur university but did not appear in the final exams. In his career he has worked as a newsreader in TV and has worked for the famous magazine Desh.

Some of his famous movies which earned him fame are Protik (1988), Marzada(1989), Beder Meye Joshna(1991), Samparka(1993), Tomar Rakhte Amar Sohag(1993), Bhoi(1996) and Nispap Ashami(1997). As a director he made his debut in the film Marzada, which was a huge hit.

He has worked with almost all the female co-stars of his time. Chiranjeet has acted with Rupa Ganguly in films like Protik , Toofan etc. Has worked with Moon Moon Sen in films like Amar Kantak , Antarale. He has also worked with today's most successful Tollywood actress Rituparna Sengupta in the film Bastir Meye Radha. Also done films with actress Debasree Roy ( Mounomukhar, Hirer Shekal ,Bhoy) and Satabdi Roy ( Maryada).

He is recently in news very much as he has won the MLA seat from Barasat in the recently concluded assembly elections as a Trinamul candidate.
