Ingredients required for Pomphereter Kalia
4 Medium sized Pompheret Fish
2 medium sized Onions (finely chopped)
1 medium sized Tomato (nicely chopped)
2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic paste
1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
1 tablespoon Turmeric powder
1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
1 tablespoon Coriander powder
Salt according to taste
Method of preparation of Pomphereter Kalia
Clean the fish pieces properly with water.
Marinate the fish for 1 hr with turmeric powder and salt.
Now heat oil in a frying pan.
Fry the pompheret fish pieces till they are crispy.
After frying keep them aside.
Now to the same oil add the cumin seeds.
Once they splutter add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder.
Sauté them properly for 2 min in a medium flame.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and sauté for another 5 mins or so.
Add 2 cups of water to them.
Now add the fried pompheret fish pieces slowly to that gravy.
Now cover the pan and cook for 6-7 mins.
After done, serve it with hot rice.
