Dalia Moong Khichdi Served Hot With Roasted Papad

1 cup Dalia
1/2 cup Moong Dal
1 cup mixed vegetables - potatoes, carrots, french beans, capsicum, cauliflower (chopped)
1/2 cup green peas
1 medium sized onion chopped
1 tomato cut into four pieces
1 Red Whole Chilli
1/2 tbsp jeera (cumin seeds)
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
1/4 tbsp garam masala powder
1/2 tbsp finely chopped ginger
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
Salt to taste
3-4 cups water
1 tbsp oil
Ghee to taste

Method of Preparation :



Heat the kadai with oil. Add jeera, red whole chilli. When they crackle add chopped onions and fry till golden brown. Add the rest of vegetables and green peas. Add finely chopped ginger, ginger-garlic paste. Mix well and keep stirring for 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Put dalia and moong dal and stir very well with the vegetables. Take a pressure cooker. Put the mixture into the pressure cooker and pour 3-4 cups of water. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt. Place the lid and put the pressure cooker on the gas oven. Wait for one whistle and after that keep the gas flame low for 5 minutes. Put off the gas and wait for sometime. Open the lid, put ghee and sprinkle garam masala powder over the preparation. Serve hot with roasted papad and chutney.
