Train accident on 31st July at kaliachak near Malda - Detail information and helpline


Train accident occured in Azimganj Malda line when Bangalore Guwahati Express derailed and later hit by a passenger train. As per latest information there were 3 casualties while many were injured. See details and helpline numbers and rescue operations.

Another incidence of Railway accident occurred and this time in Eastern Railway which is Railway Minister,s own area that is West Bengal. Train accident occurred when Bangalore Guwahati Express derailed near Kaliachak, near Gour Malda and few of its boggies went to other track where it was hit by Azimganj Malda passenger and the engine of later train caught fire.

As per report three casualties has been reported while 70-80 has been injured. Injured person has been sent to nearby hospitals, few were sent to Malda Railway hospital and few Malda Sadar hospital. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed the Railway official to take all measures for quick rescue of the injured.

Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi and two state ministers, Sabitri Mitra and Sabina Yasmin have reached the rail accident spot. General Manager Eastern Railway started from Howrah at 9.10 PM to reach the spot with its team.

Medical van from Malda and Rampurhat reached the accident site and injured has been sent to nearby hospitals for treatment. The Helpline number related to the rail accident in Howrah is 033-26411416 and in Malda is 0332-6411416. Four control rooms are in operation for this accident.

Trains of that route like Gour Express, Kanchankanya Express has been cancelled till the track is cleared. Details of injured will be updated after information.
