About Sukumar Ray
Sukumar Ray was one of the famous write of West Bengal. He was born on 30th October in the year 1887 in Kolkata of West Bengal. He was also a popular Bengali poet and also a story writer. He mainly wrote for Children. "Aboltabol" was the collection of Sukumar Ray's poem, "Gibberish" was his novel, "HaJaBaRaLa" was his story collection and "Pagla Dashu" and "Chalachittachanchari" were his famous plays. These books are the famous books of Bengali literature. He was the famous children's writer of West Bengal. His father was Upendrakishore Ray who was popularly knows as Ray Chowdhury who was also a famous children's story writer and his grand father was Sandip Ray who was the famous Bengali filmmaker. He was also the convenor of a famous club "Monday Club". In this club all the peoples are free to enjoy all the famous poems of Sukumar Ray.
About the Life of Sukumar Ray
Sukumar Ray was born on a Brahmin family of Kolkata. Actually he grew on the surroundings or environment of literary talents because his father and grand father both were also the famous persons of West Bengal. His father Upendrakishore was the friend of the famous poet of West Bengal Rabindranath Tagore. So Sukumar Ray was also influenced by him. In the year 1906 Sukumar Ray got his graduate in Physics and Chemistry from the Presidency College of Kolkata. After getting his degree he went to England for know about photography and printing technology. When he was in England he gave a brief lecture on the songs of Rabindranath Tagore before Tagore got the prestigious Novel prize. On that time Sukumar Ray developed many technology or methods for how to halftone blockmaking. This methods were also published on the England journals. When Sukumar Ray went to India from England his father Upendrakishore died. Sukumar was also a leader of Brahmo Samaj. He wrote a famous poem which is known as "Atiter Katha" which was one of the famous and popular poem in Brahmo Samaj.
Sukumar Ray died on 10th September in the year 1923in the infection of fever. In that time there was no medical treatment of that disease due to the lack of Advance technology of Medicals. Satyajit Ray was also directed a documentary film which is totally based on the life of Sukumar Ray in the year 1987.
