In this movie Ananta Das (Tapas Pal) is in lead role. His daily life as a Government clerk has no more excitement about most people living in the suburbs. His every morning is started with a plateful of dal and rice served by his wife. After finishing his meal he then rushes off to catch the 8:08 AM Bongaon train to Kolkata. On his daily train journey he meets all kinds of people like from middle aged leaching at women to the young ones engrossed in playing cards. Be a middle class people he avoids all misconducts happened around him and treated them so that nothing was happened. Every night he feels pain in his spiral cord and doctors told him it was happened due to lack of 'Backbone' to speak.

From the next day, Ananta Das becomes a fully changed man. From then he beats youngsters for trying to molest women on local trains and eveteasers who had stabbed a teenager for trying to save his sister (Sonali Chowdhuri) from them. Also he protests when his colleagues demand bribes to sign files. In this way Ananta becomes the poster boy of protest in our society and also got a huge number of fans following including a feisty journalist (Swastika Mukherjee). From then the protest of Ananta Das is going on and thus he becomes a headache for the administration and political leaders. A prostitute(Kanchana) gives a shelter him with the help of a rickshaw-puller(Raghuvir Yadav). But this doesn't give him fully protection; Rajesh Sharma ultimately hunt him down.
