Pinki Pramanik an athlete of India came in limelight within very few days after winning gold medal in 4x400 meters relay race in 2006 in Doha Asian Games, she also won silver medal in Common wealth games in same year and was awarded with a job in prestigious institution Indian Railways and is posted in Eastern Railway, Kolkata. At the age of merely 17 years she won two medals in Asian Indoor Athletics Championships and later was chosen to represent Asia in IAAF World Cup.

In 2012 Pinki Pramanik came again in limelight when she was charged for rape by her living partner and said that Pinki was not only torturing but also sexually assaulted her and claiming her being a male and hinding her sex. Partners of Pinki Pramanik in relay race were Rajwinder Kaur, Chitra Soman, and Manjeet Kaur. She also won silver medal in CWG in same year and represented Asia in 2006 IAAF World Cup and finished in seventh place for Asia in the 800 m race. Later she faced a road traffic accident and several injuries which compelled her to take retirement 3 years ago as her timing was not improving further.
